Club Projects

CenterPoint - Healthy Young Families is a free program sponsored by the Mental Health Center of Champaign County.  One aspect of the program is to have groups of teen parents and their children meet weekly for dinner.  One meal per month is provided by CUJWC.  Generally five volunteers help with the meal each month.

Conservation, Public/International Affairs - The Conservation project’s purpose is to educate club members about the importance of recycling and preservation of the environment locally and globally.  The purposes of Public/International Affairs are: to promote awareness of crime prevention, especially domestic violence against women; to keep members informed of local, state, and national issues; and to aid children of the world through Operation Smile, CARE and UNICEF.

Crisis Nursery - This is an organization whose purpose is to serve families of Champaign County whose children need to be temporarily displaced from their homes.  The Crisis Nursery is a resource for families during emergencies such as parental stress, fire, automobile accidents, and parental illness.  Our activities include providing food for parent support groups, purchasing Christmas gifts, preparing Easter baskets, and volunteering to help run their Holiday Shop.

DSC - Developmental Services Center is an agency providing comprehensive programs and services for the developmentally and/or mentally disabled individual - infant or adult.  The center is based on the premise that all individuals have a potential for growth and self-improvement.  Our activities include assisting the DSC Children’s staff with their annual holiday party, purchasing books for clients, and assisting with their fundraisers.

Education Emphasis - Club women have the opportunity to assist local educators with the preparation of learning materials throughout the academic year.
